Careswitch is a HIPAA-compliant platform, and as such, you can send secure messages to remain compliant.

You can send messages either as “PHI OK” meaning the message can have protected health information, or “NO PHI” meaning the message should not contain protected health information.

“PHI OK” Mode

When “PHI OK”, any push notifications sent to Careswitch apps are generic and do not contain the full message. Push notifications are often visible in phone lock screens, and protected health information should not show up on your phone’s lock screen.

“NO PHI” Mode

For when communication does not include client or patient identifiable information, you can use “NO PHI” mode. This includes the full message in any push notifications to make your chat as efficient as possible.
