Caregiver App How-To Guide
0:00 Downloading Careswitch
- Download the Careswitch app from the App Store for iPhones or the Google Play Store for Android devices. - Make sure to download the app labeled "Careswitch: deliver care and make money," categorized under "medical," and developed by "Careswitch link" to avoid downloading the wrong app. 
 
 
0:35 Login Review
- When you first open the app, you'll need to enter your mobile phone number. 
- You will then receive a code on your mobile phone that you'll enter into the app to gain access. - Careswitch does not use usernames or passwords. 
 
 
0:55 Editing Completed Shifts
- The app will automatically open to the current week's schedule. 
- To view past weeks, use the back arrow at the bottom of the screen next to the date. 
- To edit information from a past shift, click on a completed shift. - You can review the care plan. 
- You can add any missing tasks to the task list by clicking the plus symbol beside that task. 
- If you forgot to get the care recipient's signature during the shift, you can add it later. - If the care recipient is unable to sign, you can indicate this in the app by toggling over to "unable to sign." Then click "save signatures." 
 
- You can also add or edit a care summary note in the space below the signatures. 
 
 
1:48 Completing an In-Progress Shift
- An in-progress shift is a shift that you have already clocked into but haven't clocked out of yet. 
- Click on the in-progress shift to view its details. 
- You can then review the care plan, view the assigned tasks, and complete the tasks. 
- As you go through the tasks, mark the status of each task. - Complete: The task was finished. 
- Declined: You did not perform the task. 
- Not Needed: The task was not necessary. 
- You can also add a note to a specific task by clicking where it says "provide notes" under the task status. 
- To save your note, click "record" next to the task name. - Keep in mind that care tasks and note requirements will vary for each care recipient. 
 
 
- When you are done with the tasks, click the back arrow to shifts, then clock out by clicking "clock out." - You will need to confirm that the listed clock-out time is correct. 
- Enter your travel time for the shift and the mileage. 
 - If you are clocked in or out of a shift when you are not on-site, you will need to explain why you are at a different location. - For example, you may be at the pharmacy picking up a prescription for the client, at the grocery store shopping for them, or running another errand on their behalf. 
 
- Get the care recipient's signature. - If they are unable to sign, toggle over to "unable to sign." 
 
 
- Finally, click "clock out and submit time sheet." 
 
3:58 Completing an Incomplete Shift
- An incomplete shift is a shift where you didn't clock in or out. 
- To complete the shift information, click on the incomplete shift. - Enter the time you arrived by clicking "clock in." 
- Confirm the clock-in time is correct. 
- Explain why you're clocking in outside of the care recipient's location. 
- Click "confirm clock in." 
- Now that you are clocked in, the tasks for the shift will appear. 
- Record all completed tasks and add any notes. 
- When you are finished with the shift, click "done." 
- Confirm the clock-out time. 
- Enter your travel time and mileage. 
- Get the care recipient's signature. - If they cannot sign, toggle to "unable to sign." 
- Click "clock out." 
 
 
 
5:26 Scheduled Shift Review
- The app displays your schedule for the week. 
- To view the next week's schedule, click the forward arrow next to the date at the bottom of the screen. 
- To view more details about an upcoming shift, click on the shift. - You can review the care plan. 
- You can also get directions to the shift location. 
 
 
5:57 Job Board & Open Shifts
- The Job Board is where you can view and claim open shifts. - The Job Board tab is the second icon from the left along the bottom of the screen. 
- Open shifts are shifts that are available for caregivers to claim. - Each open shift listing will show the time of the shift, the care recipient's name, their location, the length of the shift, and the pay rate, if available. 
- To learn more about a particular shift, click on it to see a summary of the care plan and brief information about the care recipient. 
 
- If you are not interested in an open shift, you can decline it by clicking "not interested." - This will remove the shift from your Job Board so you don't see it anymore. 
- Other caregivers will still be able to view and claim the shift. 
 
- If you want to work a shift, claim it by clicking "claim shift." - This will notify your office that you have claimed the shift. 
- The shift will then be added to your schedule on the Shifts tab. 
- The shift will also be removed from all other caregivers' Job Boards. 
 
 
 
7:38 Chat
- The Chat tab is the third icon from the left on the bottom of the app screen. - Broadcasts are read-only messages sent by your administration to all caregivers. 
- Individual or group chats are group chats that allow you to communicate with other caregivers and staff. - You can also add attachments or photos to chats. 
- Chat is HIPAA compliant. 
 
 
 
8:03 Notification Inbox
- The Inbox tab is the icon furthest to the right on the bottom of the screen. 
- Your Inbox is where you will see all your app notifications. 
- You may receive notifications about:1 - Open shifts: A new shift has been added to the Job Board. 
- New assignments and shift offers: You have been assigned or offered a new shift. 
- Clock in reminders: A reminder to clock into your upcoming or in-progress shifts. 
 
- You can mark all notifications as read by clicking on the three lines in the upper right corner of the screen.
